Social Innovation Generation
Connecting Social Innovation Week Vancouver
As a part of National Social Innovation Week in May 2014, Social Innovation Generation (SiG) collaborated with a wide range of partners and invited some of the world’s leading social innovators, entrepreneurs and financiers to meet with Canada’s social innovation community. The goal was to spark discussions for Canadians to work together across sectors and disciplines to solve our toughest social challenges.
Backyard Creative was asked to design a look and feel to brand and advertise events in Vancouver within a considerably short timeframe. The conceptual theme for the last day of the week, Friday’s “Connect Vancouver”, became the visual theme for a modular brand—literally connecting letters together to indicate collaboration and a complex network of players working collectively within the social innovation space.
Our deliverables included brand marks for Social Innovation Week, Connect Vancouver and Social Innovation Canada; tote bag designs; SIX summer school participant package cover; ads for the Tyee online newspaper and supporting collateral for a Tyee campaign (sponsor banners, page banners, ads, etc.).
