Inspiring, Influencing and Innovating with People Power


The BC Human Resources Management Association’s mission is to “keep people first in the decisions of leaders”. One way this non-profit association has consistently delivered on its mission is by producing Western Canada’s largest HR conference for the past 51 years.

The high-level theme for the 2013 conference was “Changing Minds”. Working with the in-house conference team and the manager of marketing and communications, Backyard Creative developed a look and feel for a comprehensive package of conference materials, including the logo, illustrations, print and online advertisements, programs, e-blasts, awards and signage. We also produced a multitude of user-friendly graphic assets for the BC HRMA’s team to promote the 3-day event within internal channels.

As a part of our creative development process, we helped refine the conference tagline to “Inspire. Influence. Innovate.” to keep the conference tone optimistic and action-oriented, and to support the themes of the keynote speakers: Sir Ken Robinson, Amanda Lang, Dan Ariely and Marshall Goldsmith.
