BCNPHA Brand Update and Refresh
The BC Non-Profit Housing Association (BCNPHA), founded in 1993, had been using the same branding since its inception. Backyard Creative was hired to refresh the association’s brand assets and align its valuable member services with a professional, trustworthy and recognizable brand image.
We also set out to maintain some of the BCNPHA’s existing brand assets, while introducing refreshed ones. As a non-profit, the BCNPHA had a limited budget to re-fresh its brand, so consideration was taken to ensure a visual connection between the existing and refreshed assets. We worked with the association to determine a priority list for asset completion, to provide them with the most vital brand assets first.
One of the first things we discovered at a brand refresh workshop with the client was the confusion between BC Housing and the BC Non-Profit Housing Association (verbally, and visually). This sparked a decision to move forward with the well-used BCNPHA acronym in their refreshed logo. The BCNPHA’s colour palette, logo and wordmark were all re-freshed, to better represent this vibrant association’s mission to lead, support and serve the non-profit housing sector in BC.
Backyard Creative created a comprehensive BCNPHA brand asset package for their internal use, complete with templates and logo files. We continue to work with the BCNPHA and roll out their refreshed brand as existing brand items run out.
